PALETTE x PALATE OPEN CALL
We invite all artists to submit works that celebrates food in all its forms for an upcoming exhibition at The Old Bank, Dungarvan, County Waterford Ireland.
This could be anything from a classic still-life painting of fruit to a beautifully composed scene of your kitchen, utensils, or bowls. Show us photographs capturing the joy of shared meals, drawings of landscapes that nourish us, close-up shots of fresh produce, or depictions of farm animals that connect us to the land. Whether it's a personal memory, a cultural tradition, or a creative exploration of food’s role in our lives, we invite you to bring your vision to the table.
FEE: A submission fee of £15 for one artwork or £25 for two pieces. Zero commission. Please add to basket to pay and then submit your application.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
WHAT IS ‘Palette x Palate’?:
‘Palette x Palate’ is The Old Bank international open call, curated by Artist Luana Asiata for all artists.
The upcoming show is to coincide with the increasingly popular Waterford Festival of Food in Dungarvan 25-27 April 2025.
The art exhibition will occupy three rooms, the fine dining area upstairs, the cocktail bar and bistro areas downstairs. The food festival attracts a huge number of visitors from all parts of Ireland so the town will be buzzing with energy and the art exhibition will be well attended.
Theme:
Food tells a story—of heritage, of connection, of indulgence. This special exhibition is curated to coincide with the Waterford Festival of Food in Dungarvan 25-27 April.
This exhibition portrays the journey food makes from the soil to our tables, to palette.
All art works are sold in The Old Bank Dungarvan directly to the collector.
DEADLINES:
Submissions close: Midnight Wednesday 2 April 2025.
Notification of selected artworks: Friday 4 April 2025. Every entrant will be notified if your submission was successful or not.
Date to deliver selected artwork: Wednesday 16 April 2025 10-5pm to Luana Asiata, Skehacrine, Abbeyside, Dungarvan X35 XH22 Ireland.
UK based artists can deliver artwork to Luana Asiata, 82A Christchurch Road, London SW2 3DE UK from Saturday 5 April - Thursday 10 April 2025 and we'll transport artwork to the venue.
The exhibition opens to the public: Saturday 19 April 2025 - 2 June 2025 at The Old Bank Dungarvan, Waterford, Ireland
Launch Preview: Thursday 24 April 2025 6pm - 9pm at The Old Bank
Opening hours: Thursday - Sunday: 12pm - 11.30pm
Zero Commission: There will be zero commission on all sold artworks, 100% of the sale goes to the artist. If we need to arrange delivery of the artwork to the collector a small courier fee will be deducted from the sale price, this will be confirmed with the artist once the sale has gone through.
WHAT TO SUBMIT:
This opportunity is open to all visual artists and makers at any stage of their practice - anywhere in the world. We ask that the work submitted has been created within the last two years, must be your work, owned by you and available for exhibition during the dates specified above.
We accept all art works, original works on paper, paintings in any medium, pastels, drawings, embroidery, collages, mixed media, photography, digital artworks or digital prints.
Size limit is 60 x 60 cm. All work must be framed, will accept stretched canvases, must have hanging fixtures, D-rings ready to hang.
You will need to clearly label each piece with your name, title and price of the work, to match the information on your application form. If the work is abstract please indicate the correct way in which it should be hung.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
Please send your submission in one email, attaching images of all the artworks and listing all the info about you and the work in the body of the email:
1. Email hello@luanaasiata.com with subject line ‘Palette x Palate’.
2. Please photograph works in natural light on a light background making sure you show all edges of the work. Image size for submission max 4mb, if you’re selected we will request high res images.
3. Attach all submissions to ONE email as jpegs. Please name your images with your name and the title of the artwork and year it was made eg ‘YourName_ArtworkTitle_2024.jpg’.
4. Please list in the body of the email the title, size, medium, date (eg 2025) and price of ALL submitted works.
5. Please include in the body of the email a short artist bio and artist statement including your @instagram username.
6. All submitted works must be available until 2nd of June 2025.
Insurance and Liabilities
Whilst every care will be taken in the handling of your artwork. The Old Bank cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to work submitted to and exhibited during the Group Exhibition; therefore, you are strongly recommended to arrange your insurance for any artworks delivered to us and during the exhibition.
Sale of artworks
All sales will be processed using a scan to pay QR code which will appear on the artwork information label below each artwork. The QR code is a secure Paypal payment system linked to Luana Asiata account. Once payment has been confirmed, The Old Bank will be notified and they’ll release the artwork to the collector. Payment to the artist will be made upon receipt of an invoice via BASC or Revolut.
If you sell your work during the show you are welcome to replace it with another one of a similar size. We can arrange a suitable day for you to deliver artwork.
Publicity & Data
By submitting work for this exhibition, you authorise The Old Bank / Luana Asiata to process, store, and utilise the data in your submission and agree that, if selected for exhibition, images of your work can be used by The Old Bank / Luana Asiata and associated organisations and social media platforms, including but limited to The Old Bank / Luana Asiata website, for promotional and publicity purposes.
Copyright
The copyright of all works, other than commissioned work, remains the property of the artist. Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the artist.
Invitations & flyers
Digital invitations or flyers and a press release will be emailed to all selected artists to forward to buyers, collectors, press and any other contacts who you would like to see the exhibition. We kindly request you promote the exhibition on your social media platforms.
